about

Everything Is Gonna Be

Because let's face it; we don't know if it really will be OK.  It'll be, and sometimes that is enough.  Don't lose hope because of the unknown.  People say that all the time; "It's going to be OK".  And I get it. I know why we say it, but the reality is we don't really know.  But it will be… something.  Can we take comfort in that?  The fact that it'll move forward anyway?

Sometimes life is about letting go, sometimes it's not about you, and once in a while you have to step back and not look at everything the same way you always have.  It’s about being in that spot where you are more content with yourself and the way things move around you.  To me, that’s living in the moment.

Again, you can hear my dog in this one.  Tucker likes to shake his collar when he hears music.  I can remember Tom playing bass on this track with his head down and eyes closed, and I remember thinking this one might actually turn out nice.  Steve played that Bruce Springsteen type of keys, and I liked hearing them nice and loud in the mix.  Andre liked this song from the start. He would lean back on his chair and I could tell that he was imagining the potential in this song; he could hear stuff that didn't exist yet.  I remember thinking "yeah… I'm in good hands".  Andre would tell me this song makes him think about driving down a dirt road.  We'd listen to the song and he'd lean back, kinda close his eyes and pretend he had a steering wheel in front of him.

I could almost taste the dust...

lyrics

Walk on down to the hill
Past the old and rusty mill
And hide yourself away
Ya hide yourself away

Words get lost here
Don't you fear
All hope's not lost dear

I don't know where to start
Where muscle ends and spirit starts
But I know it will sort out
That's what it's all about

You know it's not about you
Just wait and see
Because the change you go about
Is about me

And I know everything is gonna be…
Wait, no, never mind, cause I don't know, lets just wait and see

The grass it's never been so green
Like folded bills of self esteem
I prey you take no heed
There simply is no need
